Charlotte, NC – Christian rap enters a new era as ION THE PRODUCER teams up with Godus Khristos and Houston-based label Grapetree Records to release “Drippin Jesus” on Friday, January 16, 2026, across all major digital platforms.

“Drippin Jesus” is designed to make listeners scrunch their face and jump at the same time; a high energy, bass heavy record blending street ready drums, raw low end, and bold faith filled lyricism that describes being filled to the so much that you “drip” the glory of God on others from the overflow. The single serves as the first look into The Prototype, ION THE PRODUCER’s forthcoming album, which aims to reinvent Christian rap by honoring its roots  while stepping into a new sonic frontier.

“Christian rap started as a prototype; raw, bold, and unashamed,” says ION THE PRODUCER. “Over time, a lot of what made it special got watered down. The Prototype and ‘Drippin Jesus’ are my way of reintroducing CHH in its original form of Gospel Rap, but with an evolved sound. This is Kingdom music for the streets, for the church, and for anybody who needs to know Jesus is still moving in our culture.”

Recorded in Charlotte, North Carolina and released through Grapetree Records in Houston, Texas, the track bridges regional sounds and generations of Christian hip-hop. Featuring a standout verse from GrapeTree artist Godus Khristos, “Drippin Jesus” showcases the chemistry of two artists committed to delivering hard bars without ever compromising the message.
